About

Arcade Union Studio is the digital studio of Arcade Union Ltd.

Practical experience building, launching and optimising real digital projects, stated plainly.

Who’s behind it

I’m Stuart Heathcote, and I run Arcade Union Studio. It’s one person, not an agency with a floor of staff, and I’d rather say that up front. It means you deal with the person who plans, designs, builds and optimises your site.

The Studio is the web design and SEO division of Arcade Union Ltd, the company behind the Arcade Union gaming ecosystem. The same hands built that site and its games, so the work here isn’t theory: it’s what I do every day.

The clearest example is Pet Getaway, my own dog boarding business. I built its website and run its local SEO, and the case study shows the real Search Console data.

What I do

I build websites for two kinds of people. Local and small businesses that want a professional site and a steady flow of customers from Google. Indie game developers who need a launch page, a game website and the search groundwork around it.

The thread between them is the same: a site is only useful if the right people can find it and know what to do when they arrive. That’s why search strategy and site structure are planned together with the build.

How I work

  • Straightforward. You’ll get an honest view of what will and won’t help, including when the answer is “you don’t need that”.
  • Evidence over claims. I don’t publish numbers I can’t source, and I don’t promise rankings. Case studies show verified data or nothing.
  • Fast, accessible, maintainable. Lightweight pages, sensible code and accessible interfaces, so what I build keeps working.
  • Plain English. No jargon for its own sake.
