Service

Be found when nearby customers search for what you do.

Helping local businesses appear when nearby customers search for their services.

Who it’s for

A business that serves a local area.

You’re a tradesperson, a salon, a pet service, a clinic, a restaurant: a business whose customers are mostly within reach. When someone nearby searches for what you do, you want to be one of the names they see.

Local search works differently from general SEO. It depends on your website, your Google Business Profile and how consistently your business is described across the web.

What’s included

What local SEO involves

  1. Local keyword research

How nearby customers actually phrase what they're looking for, and which services and areas are worth targeting.

  2. Google Business Profile

Reviewing and setting up your profile so it's complete, accurate and gives people what they need to choose you.

  3. Local on-page SEO

Service pages, headings and copy that make it clear what you do and where, with local structured data where it fits.

  4. Reviews, honestly

A sensible approach to asking real customers for reviews. Never fake ones.

  5. Consistent business details

Your name, address and phone number described the same way wherever people will find them.

  6. Local content that's worth having

A short, useful set of pages built around real services and real places, not dozens of near-identical town pages.

Why not a page for every town?

It’s tempting to publish a page for every nearby place name. It rarely helps: search engines are good at spotting near-identical pages, and visitors can tell. I decide which areas deserve their own page after keyword research, and only write one when there’s something specific and useful to say.

How it works

How it runs

  1. Research

What your customers search for, who else appears and where the opportunity is.

  2. Foundations

Business profile, site structure and on-page basics put in order.

  3. Content

A small number of genuinely useful local pages.

  4. Measure

Search Console, profile insights and enquiries reviewed.

Questions

Straight answers

Do I need a website for local SEO?

In practice, yes. A good website and a good Google Business Profile reinforce each other. If you don’t have a site, Web design is the place to start.

Which areas should I target?

That’s decided after keyword research, not before. More pages isn’t better; relevant pages are.

How long does it take?

Local results can move more quickly than national ones, but there’s no fixed timescale I’d honestly promise. It depends on the area and the competition.
